NaNo: Day 19
Nov. 19th, 2009 10:58 pmSo... Day 19 is here and NaNo is finished, for me at least.
I hit 50,000 words this morning. I worked through the night with a series of twists even I never saw coming. Hence, Day 18 kind of got overlooked. Sorry about that.
Anywho, though NaNo is done, the book is not. I still have quite a bit of plot to unravel.
On the other hand, I have also thought of a new blog series. It could even be adapted into its own little book (just thinking out loud).
Later,
ChrisBrad

NaNo: Day 17
Nov. 17th, 2009 08:30 pmStarting count: 38,816 words
Ending count: 43,037 words
That is 4,221 words for day seventeen. A personal best. I think seeing the NaNo finishing line is helping, but the novel is still SOOOOOO incomplete. I am thinking I may get to 50K tomorrow or Thursday. If that happens, well, I may take a break from this project. I think having a few days of "me" time would help. It could clear my mind and let me see the best ending, not a rushed ending.

NaNo: Day 13
Nov. 13th, 2009 02:29 pmStarting count: 31,727 words
Ending count: 33,474 words
That is 1,747 words for day thirteen.
I basically finished up the entire set-up to the main plot. Things are about to get interesting (It is about time.)
In other NaNo news, I also made some home-made cover art. It is simple. It is awful. Just downright terrible. Then again, with my artistic skills, I am lucky to hit the level of just plain god-awful, so terrible is a step up.
That is all.

NaNo: Day 9
Nov. 9th, 2009 07:40 pmStarting count: 21,543 words
Ending count: 25,006 words
That is 3,463 words for day nine. Not my best, but this was the hardest day to write. I think I hit a wall of not wanting to take the time to write. There are so many other things I need to be doing, important things, and my mind tries to tell me that writing a novel is a waste of time. It is not going to pay the bills or make me happy. It just feels like it is in the way. I know this is just my mind screwing with me, but I really wish NaNo was over so I could have free time for me, not for writing a vanity project.
Worst of all, I am pushing myself to the brink. In nine days I have hit the halfway point. That is too much and I know it. But I can;t help myself. I want to hit 50K so I can throw my hands up and say I am done. I can always come back to this story, make it better, and fill in the gaps. But right now, at this moment, I just want it to be over with.
Grr....

It's NaNo Time...
Nov. 1st, 2009 07:20 amWell, I wrote my first paragraph just after midnight this morning. Those 37 words, now officially entered at the NaNo site, mark the beginning of what is sure to be a long and difficult month of poundng away at my keyboard. I have to say, so far so good....
Just 49, 963 more words to go. Just 30 days to do it. Holy crap, I need to get a move on!
