OK... This is getting serious.
The Democrats, who have overwhelming majorities in BOTH houses of Congress, are prepping a new way to pass ObamaCare. And, friends, it is devious, nasty and very unconstitutional.
The new methodology has been dubbed the "Slaughter Solution," named after Democratic Representative Louise Slaughter. She heads up the House Committee on Rules. That means she gets to make the rules used to pass each individual bill.
Normally a bill is passed when both the House and the Senate have passed it and the President signs it. But this time is different. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, does not have the 216 votes she needs to pass ObamaCare, but she wants to pass it anyway. You'd think she'd be out of luck. But no!
See, Democrats have no problem using the Constitution as toilet paper...
What they are going to do is pass a rule in the Rules Committee (a committee that has a Democratic super-majority) and simply claim that ObamaCare is "deemed" to have been passed by the House.
Deemed. As in they say, "We would have approved it, but we aren't going to take the vote..."
That is right. The Democrats are going to simply pass a rule in a committee that DEEMS them to have passed the bill WITHOUT ACTUALLY VOTING ON IT.
This would be the first time in history where Congress will send a "passed" bill to the White House to be signed into law where only the Senate has approved it.
Even some Dems are running scared. but only a handful (10, I believe) will have to vote in the Rules committee hearing. And, according to news reports, that will happen some time next week in the dead of night.
