This is the Start of a Modern-day Frankenstein

Here is the link to a BBC story about US scientists literally creating DNA and other synthetic material to create new life in non-programmed cells. Basically, they insert this material into a cell that has been wiped of its parts and "reboot" the cell with synthetic instructions. While their research may very well be for altruistic purposes, I cannot help but to fear the possibilities of future dangers. Synthetic life is quite different from robots and whatnot. This is creating life --- actual life.
